Covan's STORY
Covan Magee was born in Kings County, Brooklyn, NY and hails from Staten Island, NY 1987. He has music in his blood, being the cousin of the legendary R &B group the Force Md's. He was formerly know as "Recording Artist Phantom" and "Phantom The Rapper." Covan had an epiphany and decided it was time for the "Rebirth" of Covan Magee and goodbye to Recording Artist Phantom. Covan is now focusing on getting serious messages to the fans in these turbulent times. Covan is a Jack of all Trades but most call him a “messenger”. Covan is making a statement in the music industry, through his love of 90's music by keeping the sophisticated lyrical technique and flowing syncopation's of jazz-hip hop alive. In an era when commercial gangsta rap and auto tune is threatening to obliterate everything in its path. His literate, intelligent, nimbly performed rhymes and political consciousness certainly doesn't fit the fashions of the "moment", but he is determined to win a devoted audience.
Covan was discovered and currently managed by Michelle “Chella" Magee(wife) a former Warner brothers/Atlantic/Elektra records employee, currently CEO & Publicist of Bullz Eye Entertainment.
Releasing his 2011 single "FREEDOM" Feat. Kenya Hunter-Placido with Oscar Sanchez (Affluent Records), former Def Jam A&R rep; Rawkus Records A&R.
In 2010 backed behind two powerhouse producers “Lawrence Worrell aka L.A.W and Toma Meert aka “Toma Beats”, Covan emerged as a rising star in the digital world with “Just Another Day” produced by L.A.W. (Planet 12 Productions) & “Just Consider” produced by Toma Beats. Both landing him on the critically acclaimed CBS “Studio 10 Morning Show” and the late night television show “ The Motown Maurice Show”,as well as a live performance at “The Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center (The Straz Center)”.
In 2009, Covan's “Rookie of the Year” had been featured on popular mixtapes such as DJ Gemstarr’s “Inglorious Bastards” and DJ Whyking’s “Ghetto Muzik Vol. 2“.
In 2007 Covan's collaboration with Universal/50/50 Konvict Muzik artist “Qwes" single “Million Wayz" landed on Konvict Muzik Mixtape “On The Loose Vol. 2“ which gave Covan major appeal and success in the music industry, all mixtapes are available for download from Coast 2 Coast Mixtapes.
It all started for Covan in 2005, when he moved from NYC as a high school graduate to attend DeVry University in Orlando,FL for Electronic Engineering Technology (EET) & Small Business and Entrepreneurship. He left school in his calling to pursue music after meeting fellow collegians that were also in pursuit. The match was unique but they were rough around the edges. Covan taking his natural role as a leader founded and formed the group Undergraduate Lyricists (U.L), it's member's were Covan who at that time went by Dell Da Emperor; Bizzi & J - One.
After a short lived success with the group and lack of motivation from it's member's Covan decided to take his career solo, changing his name to Phantom The Rapper releasing his first single "Hustle Grind Shine" which gained him a substantial fan base on MySpace.com.
2006, Mr. Magee decided to join the United States Army (Florida National Guard) in response to becoming a father, inspired him to write a song for the troops called "I'll Be Home One Day." All of these events have led Covan to where he is today, he is now a devout Christian and has found his true purpose and calling in life and that is to help others find their way.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT RECORDING ARTIST COVAN
"I finally took the time out to listened to Covan without any interruption. I enjoyed listening to him. The Hip Hop melody was OK, I extremely enjoyed his lyrics and beat. He's Hott!" - Lisa Castillo Warner Brothers A&R
~"In such a jaded industry, Phantom is truly a prime lyrical standout & is much needed in this game ! he is the f****** truth" - L*A*W Testimonial from Recording Artist L*A*W
~Phantom's flow and lyrics are just right for the style of hip-hop that he's producing....I like how each song has a different flow unlike a lot of rappers out there that have the same style and flow in every song, so it keeps the listener concentrated on the lyrics as well as the beat.....the lyrics sound like there from the heart.....that's where they are supposed to come from. Matthew Levine Fan of Phantom I have to say that I was not a big fan of Rap but when I heard Phantoms music, I actually liked it. The message in his music is cool, inspirational and warm and I like the beat! I could really move to his music. I think that everyone should listen & share his great music. He's definitely genuine, hot and happening! -Portia Noted Psychic Profiler Portia Psychic Profiler
~You are the first rapper ever to be on the show...we just heard your sound check and can't wait until the viewers get to see you performing live inside Studio 10!! -Jerome and Holley from CBS's Studio 10 Morning Show
~Mr. Magee is one of the most inspirational individuals you can ever hope to meet in your lifetime. Coming from similar past experiences and hardships, he took me under his wing as a mentor and developing artist. Sometimes you may sit back and think, boy do I have it bad, then you sit down and hear his past experiences and wonder...how do you get up from that? How do you conjure up the will to face life and the world around you? He does it every day without fail. He goes to bed after the sun goes down, and is up before it every day without hesitation. He's an loving father, a talented musician, and a man of pride and integrity. Being a prior military officer, he's a man of honor and dignity. He wears his dog tags with every ounce of his soul. Every thing he has and is achieving, he's worked for. There has never been anything "easy" in his life. But he doesn't let it bring him down, here's his approach. Stand up, approach, overcome. There is no stopping, there is no back tracking, there is no loss of progress. He's a family oriented individual. His siblings and relatives are everything to him. You hear the term "Recording Artist" or "Rapper" or "Entertainer" and think, "Yea, they're in it for themselves..." He is the exact opposite. He's not only doing it for himself, but to better the lives of his friends, his family, and those he cherishes. I can't thank him enough for the time and energy he invested and devoted into me. I couldn't ask for a better friend or mentor. -Beau Waddle aka C4 Customer Service/Retail Associate
